TOPIC I want to purchase additional storage memory cards (flash memory cards). The eMate 300 manual states that the eMate 300 only uses 5-volt PC cards. Are the memory cards from Apple compatible with the eMate 300? DISCUSSION Although the eMate 300 can read and write to 5-volt PC Cards, 12-volt flash memory cards are treated as read-only. This is because the eMate 300 does not use the 12-volt write and erase required by older cards such as Apple part number H0008LL/A. Apple as well as other retail vendors sell 5-volt flash memory PC Cards that are compatible with the eMate 300, such as Apple part number H0230Z/A. Note: Although the eMate 300 supports larger sized flash memory PC Cards, Apple has tested and supports flash memory PC Card sizes up to 4 megabytes. |
