2) Question: My computer turns on but won't finish starting up. There's an error message or a strange sound. 3) Question: Sometimes I am told I do not have enough memory to open an application, but according to the About This Computer window I do. Also, it seems like the longer the computer is on, the more RAM Mac OS uses. 4) Question: In one or more applications I see Type 1 or Type 2 or Type 3 errors, or it unexpectedly quits. 6) Question : I just upgraded Mac OS and now I am having some difficulties with third-party software. Answer: Check for updates to third-party application, utility, peripheral, and device driver software prior to performing a Mac OS upgrade or update. In some cases, software updates are needed from the third-party manufacturer to work with the newer Mac OS. If compatible software is installed and the issue(s) persist, it may be necessary to perform a clean installation of Mac OS, and reinstall the applications. 10) Question : I am trying to play a DVD movie disc but am having difficulties playing the movie, or getting the Apple DVD Player to open. 14) Question: I have a Geoport modem. Since installing Mac OS 8.5 or Mac OS 9, I can no longer access the modem or dial my Internet service provider. Answ er: Apple Telecom / Express Modem software is required to use a Geoport modem device, and it is not installed by Mac OS 8.5 or Mac OS 9.
