DISCUSSION

If the division labels within chart data are numeric, the Make Chart command does not correctly make a chart. It interprets the division labels as data to be charted. Look at the picture field for a sample set of data to be charted. In this example, the data has a single series of data and three division labels (1990, 1991, 1992). Since these years are interpreted as numeric data, when you choose Make Chart, it charts the years as though they were data (with no label for the series).

In ClarisWorks 2.0, you may choose "Use Numbers as Labels" from the General Chart Options window.

In ClarisWorks 1.0, enter ="1990" into the cell instead of 1990.
