DISCUSSION
If you open up any of the "Performa Clip Art Collection" files directly, it will open itself into the Drawing (Graphic) environment. This makes it difficult to work with if the document contains more than one image. (These images cannot be Ungrouped even though the Ungroup Picture command is available under the Arrange menu.)
A better option for these multiple image files:
Note: The full color Painting environment in ClarisWorks can demand a large amount of RAM - Increase ClarisWorks RAM memory allocation as high as possible before attempting these steps (see the Installation Guide, page 12)
1- Open the (multiple image) clip art document.
2- Under the File menu, select Save As.
3 - Pop down the Save As menu and select PICT format.
4 - Type in a name, and click Save.
5- Under the File menu, select Open and Pop Down the Document Type menu to select Painting.
(If the available memory needs to be set higher, only part of the document may open.)
6 - Select and Open the PICT file you just saved.
Now you will be able to select any part of the artwork with the lasso tool, Copy it, and Paste it into your own document.
