Rotated text in ClarisImpact will print bitmapped (72 dpi) in the following situations:
1. When using the Clipboard to paste to another program or the Scrapbook.
2. When using Save As... to create a PICT file.
3. When printing to a QuickDraw printer.
NOTE: In cases 1 & 2, rotated text may also print inverted (black background and white text). If the rotated text prints inverted, try using the Black & White option in the Print dialog box instead of Color/Grayscale. If you need the Color/Grayscale option turned on, you should use one of the techniques listed below.
Most QuickDraw printers do not give you a Color/Grayscale - Black & White option, so if you have a QuickDraw printer, your rotated text will always print jagged.
High resolution is retained when you:
1. Use Save As... to create an EPSF file
If you need to use rotated text from ClarisImpact or ClarisDraw in another program, you should use Save As... to save the document as an EPSF file that you can insert into the other document. This avoids using the Macintosh Clipboard, which would convert the rotated text into a 72-dpi graphic image.
2. Use a Library to store the rotated text
If you are using the Scrapbook to store commonly used graphics or text frames that were created within ClarisImpact or ClarisDraw, consider using the Library feature instead.
3. Use the Clipboard within ClarisImpact or ClarisDraw documents
ClarisImpact and ClarisDraw use an application clipboard that correctly maintains the properties of rotated text. This avoids using the Macintosh Clipboard, which would convert the rotated text into a 72-dpi graphic image.
