The following is from the ClarisImpact 1.0v4 Important Information file:
ClarisDraw Compatibility
ClarisDraw documents and libraries are supported in this version of ClarisImpact. These documents can be opened directly and used as if they were created in ClarisImpact. However, objects unique to ClarisDraw are converted to ClarisImpact objects. The converted objects will look the same as they did in ClarisDraw, but they do not retain the ClarisDraw functionality. Libraries can be used interchangeably between the two applications, but application specific functionality is lost when saved in the other application's format.
Example: A ClarisDraw library that has a bound text object can be directly opened in ClarisImpact. When the bound text object is used in a ClarisImpact document, it gets converted to a conventional group. The object will look the same, but the functionality is lost. Similarly, saving this ClarisDraw library in ClarisImpact converts the library and its contents to a ClarisImpact library. The following alert is generated when saving a ClarisDraw library from ClarisImpact: "Saving this library now will cause some ClarisDraw objects to be converted to ClarisImpact objects. To retain a separate copy of this library, click "Cancel", then use the "Save As" command."
ClarisDraw also supports ClarisImpact documents and libraries. The ClarisImpact models will look the same in ClarisDraw but are converted to PICTs that do not retain the model's functionality. The following alert is generated when saving a ClarisImpact library from ClarisDraw: "Saving this library now will cause any ClarisImpact models to be converted to pictures. To retain a separate copy of this library, click "Cancel", then use the "Save As" command."
