DISCUSSION
When installing or reinstalling ClarisWorks under Windows 95, you may receive the following error:
"NOT ENOUGH DISK SPACE TO INSTALL TEMPORARY FILES"
The problem in this instance is that the environment variable that specifies the Temporary directory (TEMP directory) is invalid. Make sure that the SET TEMP= statement in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file references a valid directory on your hard drive.
To edit / check your AUTOEXEC.BAT under Windows 95, follow these steps.
1. From the START menu choose RUN
2. On the command line, type in SYSEDIT and click on OK
3. In the SYSTEM CONFIGURATION EDITOR, choose AUTOEXEC.BAT from the WINDOW menu
4. Either edit your existing statement or type "SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS" on a new line
NOTE: "SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS" is only used as an example. Any valid directory can be specified as the Temporary directory.
5. Choose SAVE from the FILE menu
6. Click on the CLOSE button (the button with the X in it) to close the EDITOR window
Once the changes have been made to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, your system will need to be restarted for the changes to take effect. Save any work in progress and restart your system.
