DISCUSSION

When trying to copy text from Wordpad and paste it in a Clarisworks word processing document, the text is pasted as an OLE object rather than as text.

If you open your preferences and select the general option, you will see a check box titled "OLE Menu Items". By default this box is unchecked. If you check this box, you will then under the Edit menu get several new options:

    Paste Special
    Insert Object
    Object
    Links
    Show Objects

To copy just the text into your document, you must select Paste Special from the Edit menu, and specify that you want the data to be pasted as text.

By allowing you to copy OLE objects into your documents, you have more flexibility to create better looking documents and also edit them with the native application.
