TOPIC

ClarisDraw will not create a new document when launched from Microsoft Office.

This information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

DISCUSSION

Microsoft Office places a "pencil" icon near the Finder icon. One of the features of this icon is opening other applications both Microsoft and other. When you open ClarisDraw with this feature, it will not open a new document.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Go to the pencil icon on the top of the screen next to the Finder icon
    2) Click on the pencil to and go to the Customize menu
    3) Click New, Go to ClarisDraw and launch

ClarisDraw launches but will not open a new document. Workaround is to open ClarisDraw directly from the application icon or the Recent Applications menu.
