TOPIC

In List view in a ClarisWorks 5.0 database, when you use the Find command (command-F or Control-F), the database window may not jump to the found record, under conditions stated below:

DISCUSSION

    • A text field contains more text than can be displayed on screen.
    • You use the Find command and the found text is in the long text field (it doesn't matter if the found text is in the displayed text or not).

When this happens, if the record with the found text is not on screen, the window will not scroll or jump to display the found record.

You need to manually scroll the window to view the found record. ClarisWorks 4 did not have this problem, it would scroll to display the record with the found text.

The above information was provided by Claris Corporation on 16 March 1998, and incorporated into Apple Computer's Tech Info Library.

ClarisWorks 5.0v2 Update corrects several minor problems with the initial release of ClarisWorks 5.0. To see the problems and issues addressed in 5.0v2 . read the Tech Info Library article Number 22214 at http://til.info.apple.com/techinfo.nsf/artnum/n22214

Note: AppleWorks is the new name for ClarisWorks.
