On a Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White) with an Apple SCSI card installed, the scanner driver may not load; its icon appears during startup with a red X through it. Further, scanning software does not recognize the scanner.
DISCUSSION
The Apple Scanner extension version 4.2 does not support the Apple PCI SCSI cards available for the Power Macintosh G3 (Blue & White). Apple has released Apple Scanner version 4.3 to address this issue. This article can help you locate the software update mentioned here: |
