TOPIC
When connecting certain displays to a Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White) with the wrong adapter, not all options are available in the Monitors and Sound control panel.
DISCUSSION
When connecting the following displays to a Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White) you must use the adapter that came with the computer (part Number 590-1120-A). The part number is molded into the plastic of the adapter. When connecting the following displays to a Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White) AV Bundle, you must use the adapter that came with the display (part number 513-0091-A), not the adapter that came with the G3, since the video card has a DB15 connector.
Note
: Using the proper adapter is important. If you use the wrong adapter with the display, some resolutions may be incorrect or missing, and special features of certain models may not be accessible such as flat panel adjustments or ColorSync calibration.
