    This article provides information on removing the main battery for iBook.

DISCUSSION

    The iBook battery retaining screws are designed to be turned with a coin rather than a typical screwdriver. They need only be turned 1/4 turn counterclockwise to release the battery.

    Follow these tips if the battery door does not lift up enough for you to open and remove the door:

    • Make sure the screws have been fully turned. In the full open position they will rise off the plastic battery cover slightly. You should be able to press down on them and they will spring back up freely.
    • While placing your hand over the battery door, gently turn the iBook over. There is a chance the battery may fall out so be ready to catch it if it does.
