Unlike built-in FireWire, the Newer FireWire 2 Go PC card does not supply power to FireWire devices.

When you connect a FireWire device to the FireWire 2 Go card, make sure you have the appropriate power adapter for the device. If the FireWire device is not self powered, it cannot be used.
