TOPIC

After upgrading to a Power Mac G4, I moved my Ultra2 SCSI PCI card from my Power Macintosh G3 (Blue and White) to the new computer. After putting the card in my Power Mac G4, I am not able to boot from any Ultra2 drives attached to the card.

How can I correct this issue?

DISCUSSION

Some original Ultra2 SCSI PCI cards in the Power Macintosh G3 computers shipped with older firmware than version 1.2. To correct the no boot issue, you should update the card's firmware to version 1.2 or later.

You may download the latest firmware for the Apple SCSI cards on Apple's Support web site at: http://www.apple.com/swupdates .

Use "Ultra2" as your search query to download the 1.2 firmware updater utility.
