    This article provides information on what needs to be done prior to setting up an AirPort Base Station.


DISCUSSION

    Before setting up an AirPort Base Station for the first time, it is important to have already used the Internet Setup Assistant to configure your computer for Internet access. If you have not done the Internet setup, there is an option to complete this setup from inside the AirPort Setup Assistant. The dialog shown in Figure 1 will only appear if you respond that your computer is not set up for Internet access.

    If you choose this option, the AirPort Setup Assistant will quit and the Internet Setup Assistant will launch. Upon completing the Internet Setup Assistant, you will be returned to the Finder at which time you can launch the AirPort Setup Assistant and continue setting up your Base Station.
