TOPIC

This article explains how to make the PrintMonitor window appear when printing under Mac OS 9 and earlier.

DISCUSSION

Some third-party printer drivers may not work with the Desktop Printers feature of the Mac OS, which can provide a listing of queued print jobs.

If you need to view queued print jobs, disable desktop printing and set the PrintMonitor window to appear automatically when printing, as outlined below:

      1. Use the Extensions Manager control panel to disable the Desktop PrintMonitor and Desktop Printer Spooler system extensions.

      2. Open PrintMonitor, located in the Extensions folder.

      3. Choose Preferences from the File Menu.

      4. Click Yes to enable the "Show the PrintMonitor window when printing" option, then click OK.

      5. Restart the computer.
