When I try to download either the Web or the stand-alone installer for QuickTme, my browser presents a dialog box asking me for a name and a password. Why can't I download QuickTime?

In order to download QuickTime (both the Web installer and the stand-alone installer), your browser (and firewall or proxy server) must allow cookies. If you disallow cookies, you will not be able to download the software.

If your browser is configured to allow cookies and you are presented with a dialog box asking for a name and a password, contact your network administrator or service provider.

The cookie that is set in your browser is only in RAM, does not track any personal information, and is purged as soon as you quit your browser.
