    This article lists several options for obtaining hardware service in the United States for Apple products that are no longer in warranty.

DISCUSSION

    If you have a PowerBook that is out of warranty, and in need of hardware repair, you can have your PowerBook repaired by the Apple repair facility through a mail-in service. Please contact Apple Computer directly by calling 1 (800)-767-2775 to arrange for this service.

    For hardware service referral options, refer the customer to one of the following locations:
      1. An Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) in the local area. One can be located by calling 1 (800)-538-9696, or on the internet at the following URL: http://buy.apple.com

      2. Shreve Systems, 1 (800) 227-3971, also available on the internet at the following URL: http://www.shrevesystems.com

    You may also wish to consult your local yellow pages or business directory, or search the Internet for other options, such as used replacement parts, discount repair facilities, etc.
