This article describes the installation and setup of the Macintosh Manager on Mac OS X Server.
DISCUSSION
Macintosh Management Server Macintosh Manager software works in conjunction with AppleFileServer (AFP) server software. The AppleFileServer is a server process that Macintosh Manager uses to communicate between the client computer and the Macintosh Manager databases. Macintosh Management server provides the following services: Installing the Macintosh Management Server Software The Macintosh Management server software is preinstalled on the Macintosh Server G3 computers shipping with Mac OS X Server preinstalled. If you purchased Mac OS X Server software as a standalone package without hardware, you need to install NetBoot server software. NetBoot server software is on a separate CD that comes as part of the software package. You must install NetBoot server software on a computer that already has the Mac OS X Server software installed and set up. The Macintosh Management software is installed as part of the NetBoot server installation. For complete instructions on installing the NetBoot Server software, see: 60085 " Mac OS X Server : NetBoot Installation and Setup.
