TOPIC

This article discusses adding a preference file in Macintosh Manager.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom
When running Macintosh Manager users unable to add a preference file from the Add File button in the Preferences tab under the Global tab.

    Solution
Version 1.1 and later of the Macintosh Manager application no longer use the Add File button to add preference files.

The Macintosh Manager application works with drag and drop. You can drag any preference file from the System folder of the "NetBoot HD" volume (if you have started up the computer from a NetBoot server) or from the local hard disk to the Preferences window in Macintosh Manager.

You have to use drag and drop with Macintosh Manager to add a specific item to a workgroup if you use the Find button under the Items tab for a workgroup.

This occurs only if the Macintosh Manager Client has been installed. If you run the Macintosh Manager on a Macintosh without the Macintosh Manager Client installed, it does not occur.
