    Where should the Mac OS 8/9 startup partition be?

DISCUSSION

    The Macintosh Extended Format (HFS+) partition that is used to start up Mac OS 8/9 should be first partition on the drive. The computer's ROM may have trouble finding this partition if it is not in this location and this may cause difficulty starting up into Mac OS 8 after Mac OS X Server is installed.
