TOPIC

On my 6500, when I launch Apple Video Player I notice that I don't get any video unless I switch to 256 colors (as opposed to Thousands or Millions of colors). What's wrong?

DISCUSSION

There is an issue with the video digitizer of the 6500, 5500, and Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh which can cause this to happen. The issue is fixed in Apple Video Player 1.7.3 that Apple plans to include with the next system update. Until then, continue to switch to 256 colors if necessary.
