This article provides instructions on how to uninstall QuickTime 4 on a Macintosh. For instructions on how to uninstall QuickTime 4 on a Windows PC, please see Knowledge Base article:
DISCUSSION 1. Open the Quicktime Installer. The following screen appears:
2. Click Continue. The license statement appears:
3. Click Agree.
4. At this screen, click Custom, then click Continue and the following dialog box appears:
5. Click Continue.
6. Choose Uninstall from the pop-up menu at the top and then click Uninstall.
7. More than likely, after it is done, the following error message appears:
8. Click OK and then quit the installer. The Quicktime 4 uninstaller successfully removes everything except for the Sound Manager Extension. You must now go into the Extensions folder and manually drag this extension to the Trash.
9. At this point, you should either reinstall QuickTime 4 or an earlier version since removing the Sound Manager may cause issues with applications which rely on its functionality.
