    Avid Cinema version 1.2.2b does not work with QuickTime 4.

DISCUSSION

    Included with Apple's Teacher's Workstation bundle is Avid Cinema 1.2.2b which can be used to record video in conjunction with the ATI Xclaim VR video card. This configuration comes with QuickTime 3 installed. Until a newer version of Avid Cinema is released to work in this configuration, do not install QuickTime 4. Avid Cinema 1.2.2b will not record video if QuickTime 4 is installed and may cause the computer to stop responding.

    Other versions of Avid Cinema (including 1.2.2 and 1.3)continue to work with QuickTime 4.
