    When starting up your computer running Mac OS 8.6, and then restart using Mac OS X Server, the monitor comes up in 640 x 480 resolution.

DISCUSSION

    When the computer is started up using Mac OS 8.6 and then restarted using Mac OS X Server, the monitor preferences are lost. The administrator (root) must log in and reset the preferences using the Monitor preferences from the Apple Menu, or the Preferences application. The only workaround for this issue is to use the MacOS.app instead of dual startup.
