Description
AppleShare IP Mail 6.2 will incorrectly reject an incoming eMail message with an unspecified, or empy, from address. This eMail message will never be seen by either the Mail Administrator or the intended message recipient. AppleShare IP Mail 6.2.1 will now correctly accept messages with a "empty" from address. No other bugs or issues are addressed by this update.

Requires
Any English Mac OS 8.6 and Z-AppleShare IP 6.2 (International English).

• Any Power Macintosh computer, iMac, or Macintosh Server with a G3, 604e, 604, or 601 microprocessor, or a 6500 serieies computer with a 603e microprocessor.
• System Software: North American English version of Mac OS 8.6 (See errata below).
• AppleShare IP: North American English version of 6.2 (See errata below).

1. Stop the AppleShare IP 6.2 Mail Server.
2. Open the startup Hard Drive Window in the Finder.
3. Find, and Open, the System Folder on the startup Hard Drive.
4. Find, and Open, the Extensions Folder in the System Folder.
5. Drag the file "AppleShare IP Mail Server" from the AppleShare IP 6.2.1 update image, into the Extensions folder window.
6. Click "Ok" when asked about replacing the existing file.
7. You may now start the AppleShare IP Mail Server, no reboot is required.

1. Launch the AppleShare IP Mail Administration program.
2. Type the Administrator's name and password.
3. Verify that the AppleShare IP Mail Server is running.
4. Choose "Show Mail Server Log" from the "Server" menu.
5. Scroll to the bottom of the log and look for the Mail Server Startup message.
6. If AppleShare IP Mail 6.2.1 was properly installed the newest messages in the server log should read:
