PowerBook G3 DVD-ROM Update 1.0
Description
The PowerBook G3 DVD-ROM Update application updates the DVD-ROM drive to eliminate a possible interruption during system startup if a CD/DVD disc is not in the drive and the drive tray is closed.
The PowerBook G3 DVD-ROM Update is meant for use on any PowerBook G3 Series (Bronze Keyboard) model with a DVD-ROM drive.

Installing the PowerBook G3 DVD-ROM Update
To install the PowerBook G3 DVD-ROM Update, please follow these steps:

1. Save all open documents and quit all applications.
2. Copy the PowerBook G3 DVD-ROM Update application to your hard drive.
3. If a CD/DVD disc is in the DVD-ROM drive, drag its icon to the trash and eject the disk.
IMPORTANT
Leave the drive tray open while running the PowerBook G3 DVD-ROM Update.
4. Double-click the PowerBook G3 DVD-ROM Update.
5. Click continue in the dialog box.
6. If the application is unable to update the firmware on your DVD-ROM drive, you may have a system that is not affected by these problems, or the firmware may already be updated. If the problem persists after you have installed the update, contact your local authorized Apple service provider.
IMPORTANT
Do not reset, shut down, or turn off power to your computer while the PowerBook G3 DVD-ROM Update is in progress. Doing so may cause damage to your DVD-ROM drive.
