TOPIC

Changing the screen resolution in iMovie provides more shelf space for editing clips. However, when I change the resolution to 640x480, the applications quits. Is this the way it's suppose to work?

DISCUSSION

iMovie is designed to operate at 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions, not 640x480. While a movie is being edited iMovie will warn you not to select the 640x480 resolution. Changing the resolution to 640x480 automatically forces the application to quit. If any edits have not been saved, you will be offered the opportunity to save any changes.

To get back into your project, you will have to change the resolution back to 800x600 or higher and open the iMovie application again.
