TOPIC When I opened my File Sharing control panel, I noticed that the computer already had an assigned name of 'PowerPC 750 128.0MB'. Other computers running Mac OS 9 on the network didn't do this.
DISCUSSION You have most likely installed the Network Assistant component as part of your Mac OS 9 installation on this particular computer. Naming the computer is a feature of the Network Assistant software.
