TOPIC I am running TCP/IP file sharing on my Mac OS 9 computer. When another user connects to my computer using the Chooser it connects via AppleTalk. What am I doing wrong?
DISCUSSION With the implementation of TCP/IP file sharing included with Mac OS 9, you must manually type the IP address from the Chooser to connect to a Mac OS 9 computer running TCP/IP personal file sharing. In the Chooser, click the button "server IP address" and type the address of the server computer. Or, in the Network Browser, use the Connect To option from the Shortcuts menu (the button with the hand icon). After you have successfully connected to the server using either method, you can create an alias to it and double-click the alias to connect to the server via TCP/IP without having to type an address.
