TOPIC

This article discusses how to use Sherlock 2 to search the contents of a particular folder instead of the whole hard disk.

DISCUSSION

To limit your search to a particular folder, drag it from the Finder to the Sherlock 2 volume and folder list.

      1. Click the Files button in Sherlock 2 (the one with the picture of the hard disk).
      2. Click the appropriate search type button (File Names, Contents, Custom...).
      3. Drag the folder(s) you want to search from the Finder into the volumes and folder list in the Sherlock 2 window. You should already see your computer's hard disk volumes in this list. The folder's icon will now appear there.
      4. Click the On checkbox next to the the folder(s) you want to search.
      5. Enter the text or search criteria in the search field.
      6. Click the Magnifying Glass button.

To remove a folder from Sherlock 2's volume and folder list, drag the its icon from the list to the Trash.
