    This article explains how to change the name of a hard disk if you have installed Mac OS X Public Beta on your computer

DISCUSSION

    You cannot change the name of a hard disk while the computer is running Mac OS X Public Beta. To change the name of a hard disk, follow these steps:

      1. Start up the computer with Mac OS 9.
      2. Click the name of the disk once. A box appears around the name to show that you can edit it.
      3. Type a new name.
      4. Press Return.
      5. Restart the computer with Mac OS X Public Beta.
