TOPIC

If you connect your PowerBook to your television, the Full Screen visuals may not work. Follow the steps in this article to watch iTunes' Full Screen visuals on your TV.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

You connect your PowerBook to your television to watch iTunes' Full Screen visuals, but the screen remains in Small, Medium, or Large. It won't switch to Full Screen. You may also see a blank, black screen on the TV and the PowerBook.

    Products affected
    • iTunes 1.0 or later
    • PowerBook computer with S-video output port

    Solution
      1. Connect your PowerBook computer's S-video output port to your television.
      2. Set the computer's screen resolution to 640 by 480 pixels using the Monitor Resolution portion of the Control Strip, or the Monitors control panel. (iTunes' Full Screen Visuals feature uses the 640 by 480 resolution.)
      3. Restart the computer.
      4. Open the iTunes application.
      5. Play a song.
      6. Choose Full Screen from the Visuals menu.

If you disconnect your computer from the television, change screen resolutions, and restart the computer, you will need to follow these steps again to display iTunes' Visuals in Full Screen on your television.

Note: You can display Full Screen Visuals on a PowerBook computer's display without following these steps.
