TOPIC

This article explains what to do if an alert box with this message appears: "Table du système de fichiers incorrecte."

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

The computer stops responding at system startup time and an alert box with this message appears:
"Table du système de fichiers incorrecte" (File system map inconsistent.)

    Products affected
    • Mac OS-based computer with built-in USB ports
    • Mac OS 9.0FU (français universel) and later

    Solution
      1. Disconnect USB devices that you're not using. Plug them in only after the computer has started up and when you need to use them.
      2. Reset the computer's parameter memory (PRAM). See article 2238 " Macintosh: How to Reset PRAM and NVRAM " if you need help with this step.
      3. Use the Extensions Manager control panel to disable libraries (bibliothèques) for application programs or USB devices that you don't use, or use infrequently. (You may need to turn them back on in order to use an application or USB device at a later time.)
