    The "About this Mac" window in Mac OS X Server 10 will say "Version 10.0.3 (Build 1Z12)" after installing the 10.0.4 update.

DISCUSSION

    Symptom

    The "About this Mac" window shows Version 10.0.3 (Build 1Z12) even after installing the 10.0.4 update.

    Solution

    Mac OS X Server 10.0 uses two separate 10.0.4 updates:

    The "About this Mac" window will continue to show "Version 10.0.3 (Build 1Z12)" after the operating system update but will change to "Version 10.0.4 (Build 2G5) after the server update has been installed.

    You can also verify that the updates have been installed by checking /System/Library/Receipts for the 10.0.4Update.pkg and 10.0.4ServerUpdate.pkg.
