TOPIC

What is the role of the Preferences folder?

DISCUSSION

The Preferences Folder is a folder inside the System Folder. It provides a standard place for applications to store their special files, such as dictionaries, preference files, option files, settings files, resume files, and so forth. Application preferences can be reset to default values by throwing away its preference file; a new file will be created the next time the application is opened.
