    This document discusses a device driver for the NeXTSTEP operating system, version 3.3. This driver will not work with any version of OPENSTEP.

    Availability Information

    An updated release version of this driver, version 3.32, is avaiable on Apple's FTP servers at:

    General Overview notes: The Adaptec 6x60 Compatible SCSI driver is designed to support a variety of SCSI adapters which incorporate the Adaptec 6260 & 6360 SCSI controller chipsets.

    Supported Products / Add-on Adapters:
    Adaptec AVA-1505A (ISA)
    Adaptec AVA-1515A (ISA)
    Adaptec AHA-1520A (ISA)
    Adaptec AHA-1530P (ISA) - Not tested but might work.
    Adaptec Slim SCSI (PC/MCIA)

    Supported Products / Systems (ie integrated into PC System):
    Intel GX/Pro

    Special Features of Driver / Driver Notes:
    The onboard floppy controller, available on some cards, is not supported.

    Supported Connectors: 25-pin DB25 (Mac SCSI), 50-pin Centronics (Standard SCSI), 50-pin Header (Internal SCSI), 50-pin High Density (SCSI-2)

    Cache Size Supported**: N/A

    Known Problems

    Never tested with Compaq Portable 486/M,C and does not work.
    Next SCSI color printer currently does not work with the Adaptec 6x60 driver.


    Driver Version Notes

    3.32 Adds support for Adaptec Slim SCSI (PC/MCIA) and SoundBlaster 16 integrated SCSI.
