    This document discusses a device driver for the NeXTSTEP operating system, version 3.3. This driver will not work with any version of OPENSTEP.

    General Overview notes: This driver fixes a flaw the the Intel 824X0 PCI chipsets. It only needs to be installed on PCI systems based on the Intel 82420 & 82430 chipsets.

    Known Problems

    Write-posting was disabled in the original driver due to problems of potential data loss. The new driver will always report the PCI chip it finds. If it intends to disable write-posting, it will issue a second statement indicating that it is doing so, or that the BIOS has already done so. If no second statement is seen, then the driver believes the chip it detected is not flawed.
