Description
Macintosh Management Server 1.2 is the Mac OS X Server process used to manage Mac OS client computers. The Macintosh Management Server 1.2 Installer updates your Macintosh Management Server software to version 1.2. To use this software, you need version 1.2 or later of the Macintosh Manager administration software and version 1.1 or later of the Macintosh Manager client software installed on your Mac OS computers. Do not use this version of the server with versions of Macintosh Manager client software earlier than 1.1.
Note: The Macintosh Management Server 1.2 software does not include Macintosh Manager administration or client software.
Important:
Before you begin this process, back up your Macintosh Manager
items folder and Documents folder.
During the transition process the hard drive space used by the Macintosh Manager folder could more than double. Check the amount of free space you have before you begin. Free some drive space if space available is less than the size of the Macintosh Manager folder.
Requirements
Server:
Mac OS X Server Update 1.0-2 Patch installed and configured
Administration Station:
Macintosh Manager administration software version 1.2 or later (Macintosh Manager 1.2.4 is recommended. You can download this software from the Apple Software Updates Web site at the following address:

Installing Macintosh Management Server 1.2
To update the Macintosh Management Server software on your Mac OS X server, follow these steps:
2. Shut down all computers currently using Macintosh Manager.
3. Choose Show All Processes from the Workspace Manager menu.
4. Double-click the MacintoshManagementServer process.
5. Click Quit in the Quit Process dialog box.
6. Choose Quit from the Processes menu to quit the Process Viewer.
7. Double-click the MacintoshManager1.2.pkg.tar file to expand it.
8. Select the Unarchive option.
9. Double-click the MacintoshManager1.2.pkg file.
10. Read the information, then click Install.
11. After the installation is complete, quit the Installer.
12. Log out from the Process menu.
13. Restart the server.
