    Some applications and games slow down on the iMac and Power Mac G4 unless the mouse is moved around.


DISCUSSION

    Symptom

    Some applications and games slow down unless the mouse is moved around. It speeds back up when the mouse is moved. It looks like something just wakes up all of the sudden when the mouse is moved.

    Solution

    Turn off the "Allow processor cycling" option in the Energy Saver control panel.

    1. Open the Energy Saver control panel.

    2. Click on the Advanced Settings button.

    3. Uncheck the "Allow processor cycling" option.

    4. Close the Energy Saver control panel window.
