TOPIC This article provides recycling information on the colored plastic parts for the iMac (Summer 2000) computer. DISCUSSION
The plastic resin markings (shown in red in Figure 1) identify the type of resin used in each part, in accordance with the voluntary ISO standards 11469 and 1043. By marking plastic parts according to one or both of these standards, recyclers can more easily separate different plastics efficiently and with less cost. For example, >PC-FR< indicates that the part is made out of flame retardant polycarbonate. Recycle the plastic part according to local recycling regulations and programs. Refer to your local recycling center for further information.
