TOPIC

The SCSI card bundled with Apple OneScanner for Windows can be used with
other SCSI devices, such as a hard drive. Note: Apple does not support
other SCSI configurations, cards, or devices.

To use the card with a SCSI device other than OneScanner, you need the
driver software that is available from Adaptec, the card's manufacturer.

DISCUSSION

Using the SCSI card for other devices can be tricky. Sometimes SCSI IDs
must be set with a jumper on the card and the software must be reconfigured
to use another address for the card.

Similarly, the scanner will theoretically operate with other SCSI cards or
some built-in SCSI implementations, but different drivers will be required
-- and Apple will not support other SCSI cards. (Note that this rules out
all Microchannel-equipped IBM PS/2s as supported configurations.)
