    The Macintosh Display Card 8*24 GC has been upgraded to include a number of
    new features and improvements in both hardware (a new ROM and CLUT) and
    software.

DISCUSSION


    The 8*24 GC Rev B hardware features include timing and color support
    (32,000 colors) for the 16-inch display. The software makes the GC card
    fully System 7 compatible, and provides gamma selection for the 16-inch and
    21-inch color displays.

    No new hardware is required to use the QuickTime extension.

    Owners of the 8*24 GC Rev A card will need to have their card upgraded to
    the new ROM (timing support) in order to use the Macintosh 16-inch Color
    Display. There is no upgrade path for the CLUT (Color Look Up Table). The
    Rev B ROM is ONLY needed for the 16-inch display.
