DISCUSSION
MacDraw Pro does not have built-in color separation capabilities.
To print color separations of a MacDraw Pro document, you must save as an EPSF file, then open the EPSF file in another program that can print color separations. This is explained in the MacDraw Pro Color Guide pg. 3-6, 3-7.
Programs that can print color separations from an EPSF image include Quark XPress, Adobe Separator, Aldus Preprint, Aldus Freehand.
Some programs produce more accurate color separations and offer better separation controls than others. If you take the same EPSF image from MacDraw Pro and produce color separations in different programs, the color separations will not be identical. Thus, if the color separation is not accurate, it is possibly due to the abilities of the color separation program, and not due to the quality of the EPSF image produced by MacDraw Pro.
Claris Software Quality Assurance has found that Quark XPress seems to produce the most accurate color separations (based on the versions of tested products available as of April 1991).
