DISCUSSION

With ClarisDraw running on a 68000-based machine (Macintosh Plus, SE, Classic, Portable or PowerBook 100), if you open one of ClarisDraw's additional 256 color palettes, the screen will turn entirely black. Closing and reopening the document brings the document back.

    To reproduce this:

    1. Do an Easy Install on a 68000-based machine
    2. Launch ClarisDraw
    3. Select the Colors & Gradients dialog from the Layout menu, choose 256 colors, and open one of the color palettes. Select either Preserve or Adjust colors.

You will see a cross line is drawn on the dialog box, and then the whole screen turns black. This in no way affects the integrity of the document - it is a display issue only. Again, closing and reopening the document fixes the problem.

Since 68000-based machines cannot make use of the additional color palettes in ClarisDraw, there is no point to opening them, or even having them installed on the machine. The best thing to do is delete the Color Palettes folder from the ClarisDraw folder - there is no need for it.

The Claris graphics development team is aware of this issue.
