TOPIC

You can use the printer port to connect an external modem. However, remember to deactivate AppleTalk in the Chooser before using the external modem.

DISCUSSION

You may use the PowerBook 100 printer port to connect to a printer or LocalTalk network, and also to add external serial devices such as a modem. However, when disconnecting from a LocalTalk network and connecting a device like an external modem, be sure to deactivate AppleTalk in the Chooser. If you don't, you'll typically get some kind of serial port error message.
