This article describes the differences between Ofoto for Windows -- the software that accompanies Apple OneScanner for Windows -- and Ofoto for Macintosh. It also outlines the product's file formats and system requirements.

• The eraser, pencil, and lasso tools have been removed.
• Revert and Scan Orientation have been removed.
• The Windows MDI (Multi-Document Interface) metaphor is used. There is a title bar over the menu bar for the application, with any number of images open within the application.
• A single-line window at the bottom of the application describes menu commands that are being selected with the mouse.
• The Tool bar is a separate floating window not attached to the image windows.
• You can tell if an image is dirty (needs to be saved) if the upper-left and lower-right corners "bubble" out.
• Operations that use the Option key and mouse on the Macintosh use the Shift key under Windows. Two examples: using Shift with the mouse to crop an image, and using Shift with the mouse to zoom out.
• When Ofoto is run without a scanner, the functions that pertain to scanning are grayed out.
• Printer Setup takes the place of the Macintosh version's Page Setup.
• When you save a file in Ofoto, an auxiliary data file with an extension of the form OF? is also written to disk. This file is useful only if you intend to the read the image back into Ofoto. (On the Macintosh, this information is part of the resource fork, which doesn't exist in the DOS file system.) The "?" in the extension "OF?" can be any of these:
