Open Transport 1.3 to 1.3.1 Update Version: 1.0 was released on February 13, 1998. This update requires the US English Mac OS 8.1 Update and version 1.3 of Open Transport. It can be downloaded from Software Updates Library at the following URL: http://asu.info.apple.com/swupdates.nsf/artnum/n11377.

Note: Open Transport 1.3 is installed with the Mac OS 8.1 Update. For more information refer to TIL article 30345: "Mac OS 8.1: About Mac OS 8.1 Update".

DISCUSSION

The Open Transport 1.3 to 1.3.1 Update application may be used with any Mac OS compatible computer and Mac OS 8.1. Some utility software will report files in Mac OS 8.1 as damaged or corrupted. Although these files are not actually damaged, using this application will upgrade these files so they are no longer reported as damaged or corrupted.

Use of this Open Transport 1.3 to 1.3.1 Update application is optional and is not required. Use of this application will only correct how these files are viewed by certain utility software. Use of this application will not correct any other issues. There is no functional difference between Open Transport version 1.3 and version 1.3.1. Open Transport files with the version number 1.3.1 have simply been resized to remove the extra bytes of unused data. International releases of Mac OS 8.1 do not contain the extra bytes.

Instructions:
This software consists of a Disk Copy NDIF (New Disk Image Format) compressed image, which requires Disk Copy 6.1 or later to use. Download this software to your hard drive and then double-click it to use it. Disk Copy is available in the Utilities folder.

Disk Copy 6.1 (or later) or Disk Image Mounter 2.1 (or later) from Apple are the recommended applications to access all disk images released by Apple and are the only supported applications to access NDIF disk images.

Note: This software is offered in MacBinary (.bin) and Binhex (.hqx) formats. Please choose the option that is the most convenient for you to download. MacBinary format may make the download time quicker. If your Web browser or FTP client is not configured for MacBinary, or if you experience problems downloading using MacBinary, you can download the Binhex posting of this software. You will receive the same software no matter which option you download.
